Using rapd.fm

rapd.fm is a place to rap: take a stage, trade turns over a beat, watch, chat and vote. Using it means accepting these terms. If you do not, please do not use it.

You must be 18 or over. Performances are live and unmoderated, and anyone with the link can watch.

Your account

An account is a username and a way of proving it is you -- a phone number, or a Google or Twitter account. Keep control of whichever you use; anyone who can receive your codes can sign in as you.

Your username is public. Do not pick one that impersonates somebody else, and do not use somebody else's account.

What you perform

What you say and play is yours. You keep every right in it. We do not record it, do not store it and claim no licence over it.

You are responsible for having the right to perform what you perform, and for what you say while performing it.

What is not allowed

  • Threatening, harassing or bullying anyone.
  • Hate directed at people for who they are -- race, religion, sex, gender, sexuality, disability, nationality.
  • Sexual content, and anything at all involving minors.
  • Violence, or encouraging people towards it or towards harming themselves.
  • Performing material you have no right to perform.
  • Impersonating somebody else.
  • Recording or republishing another performer without their agreement.

Battle rap is argumentative by nature and we are not going to referee a hard verse. The line is at the list above.

A performance is public and can be recorded

Anyone holding a room's link can watch, and anyone watching can record their own screen. We cannot prevent that and do not try to. Treat a stage as public: assume what you perform can be kept and shared by whoever saw it.

The beats

The instrumentals are Creative Commons licensed and credited on screen while they play. Their licences travel with them: if you record or publish a performance, the credit shown has to go with it.

If something goes wrong

We may end a performance, free a stage or close an account that breaks these terms, with or without warning. You can stop using the site whenever you like, and ask us to delete your account.

To report someone, or to tell us a performance used your work without permission, write to hello@rapd.fm.

No promises about the service

rapd.fm is provided as it is, with no warranty. It may be unavailable, may lose a room mid-battle, and may change or disappear. It is not a recording service, and nothing you perform here is being kept for you.

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for what happens through your use of the site -- including what other people say or do in it.

Changes

These terms may change; the date at the top says when they last did. Carrying on using the site after a change means accepting it.

Privacy

What we collect and what we do not is set out on the privacy page.
